History

Guests to Mystic who are looking for a cool historic farmhouse with updated amenities will love Brigadoon Bed & Breakfast. This beautiful property is located just a mile away from downtown Mystic so you can easily step outside the inn and take a stroll down the way to see the marina, museums, and other great things downtown.

If you'd like to stay on-site, you can spend the day enjoying the wildflower gardens on the property. The common room area's at the inn are comfortably appointed for guests to enjoy. Spend some time in the library curled up with a good book or drop by for afternoon tea served each day from 3 to 4 pm. They love it when guests come to enjoy the property and get to know the other occupants.
The rooms at Brigadoon are the perfect marriage of old-world farmhouse charm with all the updated amenities that we consider necessary such as ensuite bathrooms, free WiFi, and a fully functioning gas or wood-burning fireplace.

Along with your room, guests are welcome to enjoy a hot and delicious breakfast cooked each day by the innkeepers - Ted and Kay.

On Friday nights, guests get the special pleasure of trying Ted's homemade pizza made fresh each weekend in the inn's original wood-burning beehive brick oven. He absolutely loves coming up with new and original flavor combinations to delight the guests. But get there quick because when it's gone, it's gone.
Make sure to leave plenty of time for a long conversation with Ted and Kay - your hosts at the inn. They love the Mystic area and getting to know their guests. Ted is a retired mechanical engineer with a passion for cooking, sailing and tending to the grounds at the inn with his riding lawn mower. He takes extra care to tend to the physical maintenance of the property.

Kay was born in Scotland and has transferred her love of her home country to the inn by giving it a real Highland flair. In her work life, she was a freelance writer and office manager who hoped - mistakenly - that innkeeping would give her more time to write. Now they spend their days tending to the inn and providing fantastic customer service to their guests.

Anniversary Delight

"We picked Brigadoon based on TripAdvisor reviews and could not have been more pleased! The inn is only a mile or so from downtown Mystic, the Seaport museum (Must see!) and aquarium. Ted & Kay are fantastic hosts, personable and helpful. When they found it was our anniversary, they went above and beyond to help us celebrate! The rooms are comfortable and homey and the whole atmosphere at the inn made you feel right at home. Breakfast both days was superb, especially this morning with homemade apple pancakes, REAL maple syrup and bacon! We hated to leave and hope to come back soon."
